Welcome to the Abyssinian Apostolic Church
Formerly known as the Apostolic Anglican Church of America

The Abyssinian Apostolic Church is a Sacramental + Charismatic (Pentecostal) + Evangelical church promoting the Gospel of Christ, and adhering to and acknowledging the faith and witness of the one, holy, universal (catholic), and apostolic church throughout the world.

The Abyssinian Apostolic Church is an intricate, inter-woven tapestry of  Christian ministry. We believe in, practice and promote the power of prayer, praise, worship and unity within the body of Christ. We seek to provide a platform of cultural relevance in worship expression, while maintaining the integrity of the ancient and traditional rites and rituals of the Church in modernized expression. We are Sacramental church, observing the Sacraments of the Church.

We are committed to the movement known as the “Convergence Movement” – meaning that we actively bring together in one cohesive expression of worship, the Evangelical, the Charismatic/Pentecostal, as well as the Liturgical/Sacramental modes of worship.

The Abyssinian Apostolic Church affirms its belief in the following:

  • We affirm that the Decalogue (Ten Commandments) is the rule of moral law.
  • We affirm the Apostles' and Nicene Creeds as our personal and corporate declarations and affirmations of faith.
  • We affirm both men and women as Clergy of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church.
  • We affirm that Apostolic Succession of Clergy is necessary for the proper and authoritative administration of the Holy Sacraments of the Church.
  • We affirm the Seven (7) Sacraments of the Holy Church (Baptism (by immersion), Confirmation, Holy Communion, Holy Matrimony, Reconciliation, Anointing of the Sick, Holy Orders).

We are an independent Jurisdiction of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church in full communion with the Apostolic Communion of Anglican Churches and we share inter-communion with several other national and international Church bodies. We openly accept all who accept and believe in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and fellowship with those who accept and believe on Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. We join in unity together for one purpose, which is the worship and praise our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
